The EU must be capturing and storing 300 million tonnes of CO2 annually by 2050, according to the European Commission. But while the USA and Canada are now investing heavily in CCS, within Europe only in Norway is CO2 being captured and permanently stored. Almost every EU Member State will need CCS to curb CO2 emissions from industrial processes, but most have still not adopted a strategy to make it happen. There will be no net-zero without CCS.

Join us as we mark the launch of Carbon Capture and Storage Europe (CCS Europe), a new campaign group calling for urgent deployment of CCS to curb CO2 emissions from industrial sources and to reduce CO2 already within the atmosphere.

Sponsored by Marian-Jean Marinescu MEP, a series of short presentations by representatives from industrial sectors, environmental NGOs, and the European Commission will help bring you, your colleagues or assistants, up to date with the latest situation.
