Luxembourg recognises CCUS is an important lever for climate neutrality, especially for the emissions of hard-to-abate industries as well as residual emissions. However, it falls short of ambitious measures and targets.

Despite the intent to use carbon capture even before 2030, the NECP does not contain any concrete targets.

CO2 Transport: E 

There is no mention of CO2 transport in the NECP, beyond a recognition of the needs for greater European cooperation to develop the required infrastructure.

CO2 Storage: D

Similar to CO2 transport, there are no mentions of storage beyond the need to accelerate European-level collaboration.

Funding: F

While there is funding earmarked for CCU technology, there is not mention of financial resources for CCS.
