Europan Industrial Carbon Management Summit 2025

When
September 17, 2025 at 18:00 - 9pm

The proposed 2040 Climate Target and the foundations of the Clean Industrial Deal place a clear focus on drastically reducing CO₂ emissions across Europe. Achieving these ambitious goals will require the large-scale deployment of industrial carbon management (ICM), making it a cornerstone of Europe’s climate strategy. To this end, the European Industrial Carbon Management Summit 2025 will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers to discuss how to turn these ambitions into large-scale climate action.

The theme of the Summit, "Seal the deal: advancing industrial carbon management in the Clean Industrial Deal," reflects the critical moment for industrial decarbonisation and the need to accelerate deployment, policy frameworks, and investment.

This Summit, jointly hosted with the Zero Emissions Platform (ZEP) and Carbon Capture & Storage Association, is a unique opportunity to explore the latest developments in CO₂ transport, storage, and removal, as well as discuss ways of advancing the legislative initiative to establish a regulatory framework for CO₂ Markets and Infrastructure and the Industrial Decarbonisation Bank.

ICM is gaining momentum in Europe’s climate policy and is increasingly being recognised as a key driver for achieving the EU’s climate goals. This is highlighted by the fact that European Commissioner for Energy and Housing, Dan Jørgensen, will deliver a keynote address at the European Industrial Carbon Management Summit 2025!

The Summit will serve as a forums to discuss:

  • Implementation of the Net-Zero Industry Act to scale up CO₂ transport and storage infrastructure
  • Certifying permanent carbon removals under the Carbon Removal and Carbon Farming Regulation (CRCF)
  • Advancing the legislative initiative to establish a regulatory framework for CO₂ Markets and Infrastructure and the Industrial Decarbonisation Bank
  • Reforms to the EU Emissions Trading System and the Innovation Fund
  • High-impact European project showcases
  • Progress on NZIA and CRCF implementation
  • Potential of IDAA in creating lead markets
  • Upcoming revisions to the EU ETS and Innovation Fund
