Czech NECP

The Czech government is developing a national CCUS strategy, planning to capture up to 7 Mt of CO₂ annually by 2050, but due to limited domestic storage capacity (estimated at 1200 Mt, mostly in saline aquifers), it aims to transport CO₂ via pipelines, including to the North Sea, with no storage expected before 2030.

CO2Capture: B

Czechia has set clear CCS targets starting in 2035 and is considering supportive measures while developing its national CCUS strategy.

CO2 Storage: C

There is no national CO₂ storage target, but assessments indicate some domestic storage potential, with the first storage expected post-2030, suggesting an intent to support storage.

Transport: C

Czechia plans to develop CO₂ transport infrastructure, primarily for export, utilizing both existing and new pipelines, showing support for transport expansion.

Funding: F

The document does not mention any funding for CCUS.
