With the EU Industrial Carbon Management Strategy, the course has been set for the deployment of CCS in the EU. Policymakers at the EU and Member State level are in agreement: without the large scale deployment of CCS, there will be no climate neutrality. Moreover, absent sufficient policy and regulatory support, European industries will not be able to meet the dual challenges of decarbonising without deindustrialising. The question is clear: what is needed to really make CCS happen?

This event, jointly hosted by the Zero Emissions Platform (ZEP) and CCS Europe will outline the key challenges facing the deployment of CCS projects in Europe and provide solutions for policymakers on how to address them.

Speakers include:

  • Chris Davies, Director of CCS Europe (Opening remarks)
  • Eadbhard Pernot, Secretary General at Zero Emissions Platform (Moderator)
  • Paula Hanasz, Advisor to the Secretary of State, Polish Ministry of Climate and Environment.
  • Frederick Lockwood, President of OCEOS.
  • Luciana Miu, Head of Clean Economy at EPG.
