CCS: the indispensable weapon

The science is clear: we need to start taking CO2 out of the atmosphere and store it underground.

While renewable energy and electrification will be key for the EU’s ambitious emission reductions goals, the puzzle remains unsolved. For hard-to-abate industries these are not viable solutions. CCS is essential for them to maintain their international competitiveness and at the same time lower their emissions. That’s why we are calling on the European Commission to prioritize CCS and to act decisively in its first 100 days to advance the sector.
